Margie B was created in my mother’s name as a way to honour her creativity in dressmaking and seam-stressing.

While she could clone any garment you put in front of her; create a pattern using old plastic shopping bags; and could tailor any garment you needed adjusting, she never made lingerie.

Like the 98% of women who are wearing the wrong sized bra, my mother made do with what was commercially available, and suffered in silence with ill fitting lingerie.

I was blessed in the breast department too (my bra size is 34J in Prima Donna’s line), and like my mother, I am much too frugal to spend over 300$ to get a better fitting bra at a specialty lingerie shop.

I say better fitting because specialty lingerie shops carry a greater size selection than your local department store, but the bras they carry are still ill fitting because they are created symmetrically – unlike our bodies that are created asymmetrically.

I started bra-making to learn how to sew bras for myself that actually fit me correctly, and it morphed into becoming a Certified Bra Maker and Certified Professional Bra Fitter.

I am now designing my own line of bra and panty patterns, and am dedicated to creating kits that allow the home sewist to create her own lingerie for a fraction of the cost in-store.

I have imported some of the best lingerie supplies from Europe, and continue to use the best Canadian supplies I can.
